This song is a keerthana in its true sense, an eulogy to Rama by Annamayya. The whole song is full of sobriquets/titles of Rama and need little explanation.

Meaning:
Great women's blue-cloud-colored one

holding eyes, monkey-leader's praise-worthy man
if he wishes, the god-King
Discussion:
In this stanza, Annamayya refers to Rama with a common epithet used for Krishna (Neela meGha Syama). However, Annamayya could be referring to the three mothers of Rama(Kousalya birth mother, sumitra and kaikeyi being step mothers) who adorned him. Since Rama is described to be the dark-colored one, hence the name neela megha Syama also applies to him.
The third line is interesting and refers to Sugriva who holds Rama in his eyes.

Meaning:
Wealth surpassed one; Tulasi abode;
mercy- heap/treasure who is; devotee loving one;
large/great miracles free-man; with gravity Sri Venkata hill's resident
Discussion:
The story of Tulasi is an interesting one, since it seems like Vishnu ends up being unfair to her. I will post the story yet another time. For now, the main gist of the story is that Tulasi gains a place as the most preferred one for puja of Vishnu.
Finally Annamayya refers Rama to be the resident of Venkata hill, there by referring him and Venkateswara to be incarnations of Vishnu.

kolani dopariki gobillo

This song is anther folk song by Annamayya referring to the Sankaranthi festival where gobbemma(cow dung cones) are made and put in front courtyards. This song falls into the category of a nirajanam/mangalam song. Anammayya cleverly describes Krishna's story. Krishna's character attributes, specifically valor, anger, and strength in killing the bad people, are described in each couplet by offering salutations/blessings to that virtue of Krishna.

Gobbillu

Gobbi has a culturally significant relevance to a Telugu festival celebrated during pushya month. Young girls make small conical dumps of cow dung, called gobbemma (Gobi+amma= cowdung+lady/mother) and put them at the center of rangoli in front of the house and dance around it. GObbillu must have derived from gobbi( Gobar in Hindi is cow-dung) and plural form of gobbi as gobbillu.
Culturally, particularly telugu songs sung circling around a sacred thing, be it gobemma or batakamma(flower cone/pyramids), end each line with the sacred thing being circling, with an intent of adressing the song to it(sacred thing) . It is as if song-tales are being told to them (gobemma/batakamma).
Gobillu songs, however fall into the category of "mangalam/ nirajanam" songs with an intent of abeing a "blessing/remove bad omen".

Bala Krishna Prasad's rendition of the song can be found here.

Meaning:

Discussion:
The first two lines refer to Govardhan mountain episode where Krishna lifts a whole mountain to protect the herds and village from a severe thunder storm. He is known to have turned into- a "stone-on-head " , an idiom, trouble for all the wicked demons.

Meaning:

tormenting-Kamsa put to trouble,
to the cow-herdsmen child, let there be blessings
Discussion:
Sisupala, Krishna's cousin is granted a boon of forgiving for his first hundred mistakes by Krishna to his paternal aunt, (sisupala's mother). When Sisupala does exceed his 100 abuses/mistake limit, Krishna slays him with his sudarshana chakra.
Kansa, Krishna's maternal uncle, is known for tormenting his subjects. Krishna troubles Kansa with his deeds as a cow-herdsmen. To that cowherds-boy, let there be good blessings.

కొండలయ్యకునుKondalayyakunu(kondala+ayya+ku+nu)=(hills+lord+to+also) gobbillo
Meaning:
Valiant enemies who drove away ; who to demon-
hearts is fear - (to him)
Silver, gold which is Venkata, on that Hill
to the mountain-lord, let there be blessings
Discussion:
Strong enemies were driven away by the heart-scare of demons (Krishna). To him blessings.
The venkata hill is similar to gold and silver.  He who has become lord of that hill, let there be blessings.

suvvi suvvi suvvani

This is an out and out janapada/ folk song dedicated to women who mass-pound characterized by the "olala" and "suvvi". Women pounding has a cultural significance. Women from a village gather at a place(usually who have some occassion wedding,etc. to be celebrated at their house) with huge/big mortar and pestels and sing songs and grind grains/spices etc.
This song by Annamayya is in third person with Annamayya describing the women pounding. As always Annamayya refers to Venkateswara but as "Konetappa", meaning (Koneti+appa) Koneti's Lord. Koneti is a small pond built near the temple. There is a refernce and detailed description to "koneti rayadu" in another post of Annamayya's popular song  "Kondalalo nelakonna...."

Rendition of this song from "Annamayya Janapadalu" audio can be found by clicking here

ప|| సువ్వి సువ్వి సువ్వి సువ్వని | సుదతులు దంచెద రోలాల ||

Word-Word:
సువ్విSuvvi= a chorus sound made during pounding grain; సువ్వి సువ్వి సువ్వనిsuvvani(suvvi+ani)=saying "suvvi" | సుదతులుsudatulu= women; దంచెద రోలాల(danchedaru+olala)= (they pound+a chorus) ||
Meaning:

Meaning:
Women hearts of fine gold, after making, here  love/wishes improper wished, Olala!
eye-sight like mortars, young women pound Olala
Discussion:
All the women gather for the pounding of grains. They talk about every wish,improper or proper, while pounding and thus have to make their hearts pure as gold. Annamayya uses an analogy that the women have to pound the stares-like mortars. I am guessing that the women have to overcome the stares as they talk about their improper wishes, or it also could refer to the behaviorial instinct of fighting shy stares from oneself as an improper wish is talked about.

Word-Word:

Meaning:
amongst gold-like winnowing, silk clothes and the sari-edge hung Olala
all women  with great grandeur in group pound Olala!
Discussion:
Here Annamayya describes the attire of the women pounding. Amongst the winnowing of grains,and the silk clothes, the one end of the saree that hangs over the shoulder waver. Winnowing can be done while sitting down. However, Annamayya's reference to the fluttering saree edges indicates that in this particular scene, the women are winnowing while standing.
All the women pound the grains with grandeur in a mass-pound gathering.

Word-Word:
కురులుkurulu= hair locks; దూలగtoolaga= as dangled; మంచిmanchi=good; గుబ్బచనులపైgubbachanulapai(gubba+chanula+pai)=(rounded+of the breasts+over) over the rounded breasts; సరులుsarulu=necklaces; దూలాడగtolaDaga(thooli+aaDaga)=(hung+dangling) నోలాల |
అరవిరిaraviri= half blossomed; బాగులనbaagulana= gestures; అతివలుativalu= women; ముద్దులుmuddulu=love/kisses | గురియుచుkuriyuchu=with showering; దంచెద రోలాల ||
Meaning:
hair-locks as dangled, good rounded breasts- over, as necklaces hung and dangled Olala!
half-blossomed gestured women love showering-with, pound Olala
Discussion:
While in the previous stanza Annamayya mentions the overall attire in the sense of clothes, in this stanza, he describes more specific attributes of the women.
The long hair of the women dangled around, and on the bosom dangled the necklaces. The young women, referred as half-blossomed, with their gestures showered love as they pounded.

Word-Word:
ఘల్లుGhallu= the sound representative of trinkets; ఘల్లుమను కంకణkankaNa=bracelets; రవములravamula= sounds; | పల్లవpallava=a new leaf; పాణులpaNula= handed ones నోలాల |
అల్లనallana=gently; నడుములుnaDumulu= waists; అసియాడుచుasiaaDuchu= dance like a pendulum rythm; సతులొల్లనెsathulollane(sathulu+ollane)=(women+gently/softly) దంచెద రోలాల ||
Meaning:
 Ghallu ghallu from bracelet sounds of the new-leaf-like handed ones Olala
gently waists with dancing like pendulum; the women gently pound Olala
Discussion:
Looks like Annamayya is going in a certain order in describing the women. In the previous stanza he started with describing the hair and then the necklaces, he proceeds to describe the hands and waists in this stanza.
The trinkling sound of the bracelets on the hands, and the waists dancing like pendulum in rhythm during pounding are examples of Annamayya's astute descriptions. Annamayya uses the analogy of "new leaf" for describing the delicate hands.
While pounding, the usual procedure followed is that the women hit the pound with one hand and then pick it with another and hit it again. This process itself is in a rhythm and the hit and pick with another hand actually causes the body, waist in particular to move in a rhythm. Annamayya is referring to this rhythm in this stanza.

చ|| కప్పురగంధులు కమ్మనిపువ్వుల | చప్పరములలో నోలాల |

Kappuragamdhulu kammanipuvvula | capparamulalo nolala
teppaluga rati delucu gone| Tappani badeda rolala
Word-Word:
కప్పురkappura= camphor; గంధులుgandhulu=odored women; కమ్మనిkammani= pleasant; పువ్వుల puvvula= of flowers;  చప్పరములలో= under the hood/roof నోలాల |
తెప్పలుగాteppaluga= in heaps; రతిrati= love; దేలుచుteluchu= to show; గోనేటప్పనిKonetappani(koneti+appa)= to the Lord of Koneti బాడెద రోలాల ||
Meaning:
Camphor-odored women , under pleasant flower roofs, Olala
in heaps love/amorous showing to the Lord of Koneti/Venkteswara will sing olala
Discussion:
Under the flowering trees, the women were pounding. Camphor is usually used as a perfume. hence Annamayya calls the women to be camphor scented. In groups these women  sang songs that depicted love towards the Lord of Koneti(Venkateswara).

As always any comments and suggestions that help in better understanding this song are highly appreciated.

pidikita talambrala pellikoothuru

 This is one of the wedding ceremonial songs especially "talambralu" literally meaning showers off the heads.  To me it seems as if just during the ritual of showering rice in the wedding, every body except Annamayya freezes in time, and Annamayya takes that opportunity to dedicate a song to the bride and describes mostly the physical appearance and demeanor of the bride. Most of the song is generic and can be applied to any bride in general. This song has become so popular that most wedding videos have this song playing during the ceremony.
Annamayya in this song has a unique style, where in he ends each line with "pelli koothuru" referrring to the bride and at the same time repeats the sound of the first word in each line of a stanza. In the all stanzas except the third one it is "pa" (in "pidikita" and "pedamarali"). For the third one, he usues "ba" which falls under the same consonant line as that of "pa". He goes a step further with the acoustics in this poem and tries to use the variations of same first word. For example, he uses "peru" (meaning name) in different forms in the beginning of each line second stanza "perukala"(arranged), "peru"( necklace), "perantandla"(invited women for a ritual), and finally "peru kocchu"(whenever name comes). Similarly, for third stanza it is "birudu"(titled/famous) and for fourth stanza it is "petti"(put/keep).
Another interesting format for this song is that in each stanza/quartlet, first two lines are dedicated to the describing the jewellery or costume of the bride while the last  two lines are dedicated to describe the situational behavior of the bride, especially as a reaction related to her husband/groom.

The rendition of this song by Nitya Santhoshini can be found here.

పిడికిట తలంబ్రాల పెండ్లి కూతురు కొంత -
పడమరలి నవీనె పెండ్లి కూతురు
pidikita talambrala pendli kuturu konta |
padamarali navvīne pendli kūturu ||
Word-Word:
పిడికిటpidikita= fistful; తలంబ్రాలtalambralu(talambu+raalu)=(of head+shower)rice thrown over the heads of bride and bridegroom as a ceremony in marriage; పెండ్లికూతురుpendlikoothuru=(wedding+daughter) bride; కొంతkontha= a little;
పడpeda= side; మరలిmarali= turn; నవీనెnaveene=smiled;  పెండ్లి కూతురుpendlikoothuru=bride
Meaning:
 Fistful of rice(thrown on head) bride; a little
sidewards turned and smiled the bride;
Discussion:
This song in particular describes the informal ritual soon after the main ceremony of marriage where in the bride and groom shower fistful of rice on each other's head, alluding to the sense of flourishing with rice. Some games/ informal rituals are held to break the ice between the new couple who haven't met casually before that in usually an arranged marriage.
Annamayya describes the usual demeanor of brides in Indian weddings. Most brides in Indian culture are actually suggested to be pleasant, a little timid and shy. So out of the shyness, the bride does/can not make an eye contact with the person right in front of her, her groom/husband(!!), and so usually has her sight downwards, or sideways. This is a behavioral trait of women and brides, usually emphasized in dances in particular.

Word-Word:

పెద్దpedda= big; పేరులperula= necklace; ముత్యాలmutyala= pearls; మేడmeda=neck;  పెండ్లి కూతురుpendlikoothuru=bride
పేరంటాండ్లperantandla=married women to attend domestic festival;  నడిమిnadimi=in between; పెండ్లి కూతురుpendlikoothuru=bride
విభుvibhu=Lord; పేరుకుచ్చుpeerukocchu(peruku+vacchu)=(name+came) సిగ్గువడీsigguvade= who feels shy; పెండ్లి కూతురుpendlikoothuru=bride
Meaning:
arranged jewels, Dear Bride;
Big necklaces of pearls on the neck of the Bride;
In between married women is the bride;
As the Lord's name comes(is said), feels shy the Bride;
Discussion:
In this stanza, Annamayya describes the jewellery that the bride wore. Married women are invited to help around in the wedding, especially with the bride.  So Annamayya says that the bride is among the invited married women. The shyness/blushing over hearing their husband's name is very common among Indian women and Annamayya brings out this behavioral trait in this poem.

Word-Word:
బిరుదుbirudu=title; పెండముpendamu=an anklet/ an ornament of honor worn on ankle by warriors as a distinction award; వెట్టెvette=put; బెండ్లికూతురుpendlikoothuru=bride; నెరnera= excellent;
బిరుదుbirudu= titled; మగనిmagani=man's; కంటెkante= in comparision; బెండ్లికూతురుpendlikoothuru= bride;
పిరిదూరినpiridoori=a strand in the cord; అప్పుడేappude=then only; పెండ్లి కూతురూ pendli koothuru= bride; పతి pathi= Lord;
బెరరేచీనberarechena=to reach out; ఇదివోidivo=this; పెండ్లి కూతురుpendlikoothuru=bride;
Meaning:
popular anklet wore the Bride; Excellent
titled Husband more than, (this) Bride
even if a strand (between her and husband) immediately this bride, for her Husband
reached out this Bride
Discussion:
Annmayya says that the bride wore a huge anklet that was bigger than that her popular husband wore. The tone is tricky where the praise actually intends a slight tease all in good favor, :). The next two lines describes the initial attraction of a bride, who would not let even a strand of distance from her husband.
As I already mentioned, in this stanza Annamayya uses the word forms of "birudu" meaning title as the first word in each line/ The words are "birudu" (huge/popular) in the first two lines, "piriduri" (strand of distance), and finally "berareche"(reaching out).

Word-Word:

పెట్టెడుpettadu=given as token/gift; చీరలు cheeralu= saris; గట్టిgatti= to tie; పెండ్లికూతురుpendlikoothuru = bride;
గట్టిగgattiga= strongly; వేంకటపతిvenkatapathi Venkata's Lord; కౌగిటను kaugitanu= embrace;-
పెట్టినpettina= placed/give; నిధానమయినnidhanamayina(Nidhanamu+ayina)=treasure+become పెండ్లికూతురుpendlikoothuru=bride
Meaning:
Wore a big hair bun, (this) bride
gifted saris wore (this) bride
strongly Venkata's Lord embrace
put one who is the treasure, this bride
Discussion:
It is a ritual that the bride wear sarees gifted to her by her in-laws or parents for her wedding. Annamayya could actually be refering to another ritual in temples where the devotees gift sarees for their wedding. Annamayya says that this bride is a treasure that was put in Venkateswara's embrace.
In this stanza, Annamayya uses the word forms of "pettu" at the beginning of each line. The words are "pettene" (she put), "pettudu"(given as gift),"gattiga"(strongly) is an offlier(!!); and finally "pettina" (placed)

As usual, any suggestions and comments to help in better understanding of this song are highly appreciated.

podagantimayya

This keerthana is apparently sung by Annamayya when he sees Venkateswara for the first time on Tirupathi. This is an eulogy song. Interesting aspect about the format is that while each line in the stanza has an analogy to describe the Lord, Annamayya uses epithets in the last line of the stanza and ends the stanza with the epithet. The first stanza is a personal experience description but the later stanzas are Annamayya's perception of the Lord Venkateswara. Interesting to note that each stanza has its own characteristic analogies. For example, in third stanza, Annamayya uses analogies of the apparent wish-fulfilling things such as Parijathamu(wish-fulfilling tree), chintamani(wish-fulfilling gem stone) and kamadhenu (wish-fulfilling cow).
Another interesting aspect especially in the first three stanzas is that except in the last line, all the other lines in the stanza have a sort of alliteration where the first and third words have same consonant sound. I'll discuss more about this in the discussion section of each stanza.

Word-Word
పొడగంటిమయ్యPodagantimayya(Podakantimi+ayya)= (we saw+Lord) We saw, Lord; మిమ్ముmimmu= you;  పురుషోత్తమాpurushottama(purusha+uttama)= (man+supreme/best) the supreme man; మమ్ముmammu=us;
ఎడయకవయ్యnedayakavayya(edayaku+ayya)=(don't separate+Lord);  కోనేటిkoneti=the pond; రాయడాrayada= Lord;
Meaning:
We saw you, the Supreme one;
Don't separate/leave us , O Lord of the pond(koneti)
Discussion:
Annamayya makes an earnest request to the Lord of the koneti(pond), Venkateswara, to not leave or separate him once he has seen Him now. Annamayya uses the epithet of Konetiraya in quite a few of his keerthanas.
 Notice that "Podagantimayya' and the third word "purushottama"start with the same consonant sound "pa".

Meaning:
 by wish, the one who rules us, that race-diety (is you); the
well-learned elders given treasure(is you)
pampering and thirst quenching black cloud(is you);To us
near in heart/mind, Srinivas;
Discussion:
 The first two lines refer to the significance of race and elders. Kuladaimanu(race-diety) is usually chosen by that family/race to reign and protect that family from disasters and enemies. This is something common to the Greek culture.
Annamayya says that the elders have given him the treasure of Venkateswara. This signifies the cultural "reverence pact" that once the learned elders of the society decide/say something, the children/descendents follow it.
The next two lines present the personal perception of Annamayya. Only mother pampers and feeds the children. Similarly, Annamayya says that his Lord is the black cloud that pampers and quenches thirst. Annamayya is referring to the thirst of wishes/desires.
Notice that the alliteration of first and third words- "korimammu"-"kuladaivama", "nerichi"- "nidhanama", "garavinchi"- "kalameghama".  The third line even though does not use the exact same consonant sound, it uses the consonants from the same group (Ex. ka kha ga gha ...).

Meaning:
By thinking in-hand wish-fulfilling tree
the courage-giving protecting gem-stone
producing and fulfilling wishes as the Kamadhenu(wish-fulfilling cow); to us
as way/path who protects, that Bearer of Earth(is you)
Discussion:
In this stanza, Annmayya uses analogies of wish-fulfilling divine tree,stone and cow. The Parijathamu is a wish-fulfilling tree that Indra took during ksheer-sagar manthan(churning of the ocean). There is a popular story called "parijatha apaharanam" where Krishna steals the tree from Indra's garden to please Satyabhama. In this poem, Annamayya says that by feeling/thinking about Venkatesa, He gives by becoming wish-fulfilling tree.
Also, chintamani is supposed to be a wish-fulfilling stone, also known as philosopher's stone :). I did not find much material about the stone itself but a couple of references to "Chintamani vinayak" and Vishnu called as "Chintamani" himself.
Kamadhenu is described as one of the treasures from ksheer sagar manthan too. A cow that gives unlimited food and wishes. Kamadhenu plays a crucial part in  Parushuram's story.

Meaning:
Without rotting life-saving proven chant (are you); disease

Without order roaming life's kin; us
acquired that Sri Venkata's Lord is you.
Discussion:
In this stanza, Annamayya uses analogies of life-saving things. He says that Venkatesha is the siddhamantramu(chant) that saves the life from rotting/going bad. Venkatesha is like the medicine that saves from life threatening diseases.

As always, any suggestions and comments to help in better understnading of this song are appreciated.

sathulala chudare sravana

This is yet another song by Annamayya about Sravana bahulastami or Krishnashtami, the eight day(ashtami) of the lunar month of Sravanamu in Telugu calendar. Upon a request from a reader, I am posting this translation :). This song mainly describes the birth of Krishna and both his parents (biological and foster).
Annamayya ends each couplet with "ee Krishnudu" meaning "this Krishna".

The song version can be found by clicking here.

Word-Word:
సతులాలsatulala= all the Ladies; చూడరేchoodare=see; శ్రావణSravana=  బహుళాష్టమిbahulashtami (bahula+ ashtami)= (the 14 day period after full-moon+eight day)
గతలాయgatalaaye(gatilu+aaye)= destiny+became; నడురేయిnadureyi= midnight;( గలిగెkalige= happened/occured/came into existence; శ్రీకృషుడుSriKrishnudu= Sri Krishna;
Meaning:
All the Ladies, see on Sravana Bahulashtami,
destiny became, at midnight came(was born) Sri Krishna
Discussion:
This is one of those songs where Annamayya starts by drawing attention of all the ladies to something;   in this case, towards the eight day of Sravana, when Krishna was born.  Bahulaashtami, refers to the eight day after the full-moon.

Meaning:
At the time of birth, 4 hands, Conch and disc
how adorned this Krishna
Just like that crown, ornaments( he) wore
right in front is present this Krishna;
Discussion:
Annamayya expresses surprise on how a new-born can hold a conch and disc, and also be born with his four hands. Interestingly, Annamayya says that "krishna wore" the 4 hands, as something that can be worn or discarded at wish.  Apparently, Krishna was adorned with ornaments and a crown too. Annamayya says that Krishna is right in front of him. Apparently, Annamayya is in a temple before an idol. It is not until the last stanza that we come to know that the Annamayya is actually referring to Venkatesa as being a different form/incarnation of Krishna.

Meaning:
Came Brahma and Rudra, and at threshold praised
By wish/interest is listening this Krishna;
Conversing, with Devaki, and drowned with Vasudeva;
with exceeding miracles, this Krishna;
Discussion:
When Krishna was born, apparently, Brahma and Shiva sang eulogies about Vishnu.  Annamayya says "vaakita" or on the threshold that Brahma and Shiva sang. The next two lines quickly describe what happened next with Krishna's parents.  Vishnu is said to have conversed with Devaki and instructed for his transfer from his birthplace, which was a prison. So his father Vasudeva takes him in a basket out of the prison. It is believed to have rained that day and also that Vasudeva had to cross river Yamuna to get to the place of his friend Nanda, a herdsman. So Annamayya says "munchi" or "drowned" with Vasudeva. Also, there are a lot of miracles involved since they get out of the prison and to the other end of the river in the midst of heavy rain.

Meaning:

As the Extravagant Sri Venkatesa, with Alamelmanga
in front stood this Krishna.
Discussion:
After all the troubles, Krishna spent his childhood at Nanda and Yashoda's house. Annamayya says that the same Krishna is now before him as Venkatesa along with his wife Alamelmanga.

Any comments and suggestions that help in better understanding of this song are highly appreciated.

anni mantramulu...

This is a straight forward poem mentioning of about the different forms of Vishnu mantramu(chant) and how they came into existence due to their significance related to a devotee. Most of the poem needs little to no explanation.

అన్ని మంత్రములు ఇందె ఆవహించెను - వెన్నతో నాకు గలిగె వేంకటేశు మంత్రము
anni maMtramulu iMde aavahiMchenu - vennatO naaku galige vaeMkaTaeSu maMtramu
Word-word:
అన్నిanni= all; మంత్రములుmantramulu= chants; ఇందె inde= from this;ఆవహించెనుavahinchenu= to enter/possess; - వెన్నతో vennetho= with butter;నాకుnaaku= to me; గలిగెkalige= got,obtained; వేంకటేశుventateshu= Venkata's; మంత్రముmantramu= chant.
Meaning:
All the chants, from Him (only) came into existence;
With butter , to me, came, Venkatesha's chant.
Discussion:
The second line might mean that Annamayya learnt theVenkatesha's Chant from his childhood as young as when infants are fed butter, evn before feeding solid food. Apparently, his mother must have taught him Venkatesha's chant. Another possible reference(less likely) could be to that of for him chanting Vekatesha's name was as easy as eating butter.

Word-Word:
 నారదుడుNaradudu= Narada; జపియించెjapinche= chanted; నారాయణNarayana= Narayana's; మంత్రము mantramu= chant;- చేరెchere= reached; ప్రహ్లాదుడుPrahladudu= Prahlada; నారసింహNarasinha= Narasimha, the man-lion form; మంత్రము mantramu=chant;కోరిkori= as wished; విభీషణుడు vibhishanudu= Vibhishana, Ravan's brother;చేకొనెchekone= obtained; రామrama= Rama; మంత్రము mantramu= chant;- వేరెvere= different;నాకుnaaku= to me; గలిగె kalige= obtained; వేంకటేశు Venkateshu = Venkatesha's; మంత్రముmantramu= chant.
Meaning:
Narada chanted Narayana chant, the Narsimha chant reached Prahlada.
As wished, Vibhishana obtained Rama's chant. To me differently came Venkatesha's chant.

Meaning:
Vasudeva's chant was chanted by Druva, Arjuna was possessed( have become as part of body) by Krishna's chant.
On front yard, Vishnu's chant Shuka read; exclusively to me came within my joyful reach, Venkatesha's chant
Discussion:
We know of Dhruva, and  Arjuna. Shuka is a new character.Well, according to Wikipedia, Shuka was the son of Vyasa, the original narrator of Bhagavad Purana. Shuka was considered to have attained higher spiritual enlightenment than Vyasa himself. I am always taken by surprise by Annamayya's choice of references, characters, and ofcourse words.

alara chanchalamaina...

Annamayya once again illustrates his adept and grip over the Telugu language by presenting this keerthana about Lord Venkateswara's swing.  The theme of this keerthan is swing and so every sentence ends with "swing". He makes this more pleasant by making it sound like a lullaby that gives out the essence of life with a higher intellectual description, atleast in the first few stanzas.

Priya sisters rendition of the song can be found here.

అలర చంచలమైన ఆత్మలందుండ నీ యలవాటు చేసె నీవుయ్యాల
పలుమారు నుఛ్ఛ్వాస పవనమందుండ నీ భావంబు దెలిపె నీ వుయ్యాల
alara chaMchalamaina aatmalaMduMDa nee yalavaaTu chaese neevuyyaala
palumaaru nuChChvaasa pavanamaMduMDa nee bhaavaMbu delipe nee vuyyaala

Word-Word:
అలరalara=to blossom/shine; చంచలమైనchanchalamaina(chanchalamu+aina)= transient +that which is; ఆత్మలందుండ నీaatmalandundani(atmala+andu+undani)=in soul+in+present; యలవాటుalavatu=habituated; చేసెchese=made/done; నీnee= your;వుయ్యాలvuyyala=swing;
పలుమారుpalu maru=(many times; నుఛ్ఛ్వాసuchchvasa=breath/consolation; పవనpavanamu= wind; మందుండandunda=present inside; నీnee=your; భావంబుbhavambu=intention/purpose; దెలిపెtelipe=to inform/tell; నీnee=your; వుయ్యాలvuyyala=swing.
Meaning:
The blooming transience present in the souls is habituated to you by your swing;
Many times, present in the breating air, your intention/purpose tells, your swing.
Discussion:
 There are two aspects in each sentence. Lets look at the first sentence. Firstly Annamayya tells us the transient/changing nature present in the soul that is always blooming. So the change is always blooming and new. To that transience, according to Annamayya, the swing brings out steadiness by habituating/ accustoming the soul to the Lord. So in other words, Annamayya is describing how the Lord's swinging ceremony makes everyone to focus on the Lord.
The second sentence starts off with the breathing air. We breathe every time but it is only sometimes that we think of it or focus on it. So Annamayya says that in that breathing air, the whole feeling/purpose of the Lord is present. According to him, that feeling/purpose is sensed /taught by the "swing". There are a lot of things common with breathing and the swinging. They are rhythmic and they involve air.  As we know, focusing on breathing is a meditation technique too.

ఉదాయాస్త శైలంబు లొనర కంభములైన వుడుమండలము మోచె నుయ్యాల
అదన ఆకాశపదము అడ్డౌదూలంబైన అఖిలంబు నిండె నీ వుయ్యాల
udaayaasta SailaMbu lonara kaMbhamulaina buDumaMDalamu mOche nuyyaala
adana aakaaSapadamu aDDaudoolaMbaina akhilaMbu niMDe nee buyyaala
Word-Word:
ఉదాయాస్తudayastha=(udaya+astha=morning+end) sunrise to sunset; శైలంబుshailambu=on mountain; లొనరlona=inside; కంభములైనkambhamulaina(kambhamulu+aina)=vertical columns+to be; వుడుvuduvu= star; మండలముmandalamu=galaxy; మోచెmoche=to bear; నుయ్యాలvuyyala=swing;
అదనadana=excess; ఆకాశaakasha=sky;పదముpadam=foot; అడ్డౌadda=cross/transverse;దూలంబైన doolambaina (doolambu+aina)=beam+that is; అఖిలంబుakhilambu= all; నిండెninde=to fill; నీnee=your; వుయ్యాలvuyyala= swing.
Meaning:
On the  inside of  the sunrise and sunset like mountains, as  vertical column( is your swing), the starry galaxy is bore by your swing.
The excessive sky's feet having become the cross beam, the entire space is filled by your swing..
Discussion:
This stanza is a little tricky to understand with the words Annamayya uses. I'm confused as to why he used "udayastha shailambu". I hope I got the words right! Any help would be appreciated. But from one of the comments in this post, I realised that, the play of words, especially the prepositions should be right to get it. Here is what I infer....On the inside of the mountains, formed by sunrise and sunset on both sides, as vertical columns, is the swing, that bears the galaxies.  I guess this is confusing because there is a simile in a simile :). The first simile is that mountains are the vertical columns of the swing. The simile in the simile is that the mountains are not actual mountains but the "sun rise and sunset". That means that in between the sunrise and sunset is the swing. And we know that in between the sunrise and sun set is the "day and night", but Annamayya says that the swing is inbetween(lonara) ,thus refering to day and night as the swinging from one side to another.
The second line presents an interesting fact, that Annamayya knew/believed, during 15 century; that the sky is limitless. So he uses "sky's feet " as the  cross beam. Though he is not completely right technically in describing that, this is a poem and artistic liberty should be credited.

పదిలముగ వేదములు బంగారు చేరులై పట్టివెరపై తోచెనుయ్యాల

padilamuga vaedamulu baMgaaru chaerulai paTTiverapai tOchenuyyaala
vadalakiTu dharmadaevata peeThamai migula varNiMpa narudaaye vuyyaala
Word-Word:
పదిలముగpadilamuga=with caution/care; వేదములుvedamulu=the Vedas; బంగారుbangaru= golden; చేరులై cherulai=to be near;పట్టిpatti=hold/on account of;వెరపైverapai=vera+pai=fear/surprise+on; తోచెtoche= to push; నుయ్యాలvuyyala= swing;
వదలకిటుvadlakitu(vadalaku+itu)=don't leave+this way; ధర్మdharma= the rules of law/Dharma;దేవతdevatha=god; పీఠమైpeethamu= a lofty seat; మిగులmigula=to leave/vacant/ the remaining; వర్ణింపvarnimpa= to describe; నరుదాయెarudaye(arudu+aye)= scarce+tobe; వుయ్యాలvuyyala=swing;
Meaning:
With caution, the Vedas, as the golden near ones/kin, hold and with fear push your swing;
Without leaving this way, the Dharma God having become the seat, the rest is too little to describe your swing...
Discussion:
 In this stanza, Annamayya describes how the Lord is swung by Vedas and Dharma. Annamayya describes how the Vedas, being the nearest ones to the Lord, hold the swing with caution and with fear, push it. This basically describes the swinging method. One has to cautiously hold the swing when it comes back and push it. There is always fear if the push is forceful to knock the person off the swing. The Dharma or law is the seat, that does not leave, and with these two(vedas and the dharma), everything else is too little to describe the swing.

మేలు కట్లయి మీకు మేఘమండలమెల్ల మెరుగునకు మెరుగాయె వుయ్యాల

నీలశైలముneelashilamu(neela+shailamu)=blue+mountain; వంటిvanti= like/similar; నీnee=your; మేనిmeni=brilliance/lustre; కాంతికిkanthiki= to the light/illuminous; నిజమైనnijamaina= truthfully; తొడవాయెthodavaye (thoda+aye)=ornament+ has become; వుయ్యాల
Meaning:
Having become a canopy to you, all the cloud-region for brilliance sake have become brilliant
For the blue-mountain-like your brilliance's-lustre/light,   the true ornament has your swing become.
Discussion:
Remember that Annamayya has already described the sky as the cross beam for the swing. He cleverly describes that the clouds form canopy or a shelter. The Lord's lustre is blue, like the blue mountain. To such lustre, the swing is like an ornament.

వోలిooli=a line; బ్రహ్మాణ్డములుbhrahmandamu= the universe; వొరుగునోorugunoo=will it bend?;  యనిyani=as if; భీతిbheethi= fear; నొయ్యoyyana=slowly/gently; నొయ్యనైరిoyyanairi(oyyana+airi)= (gentle+become)have become gentle; వూచి voochi= to rock (swing);రుయ్యాల
Meaning:
As the breasts moved and the upper garment rubbed over them, the ladies quickly acted(consciously adjust?) - (all this caused) by the swing
The lined universe as if will bend/fall, with (such) fear, slowly becoming gentle, rocked/swung the swing...
Discussion:
In this stanza, Annamayya shifts his focus from describing the swing to describing the scene with Lord's two wives swinging in the first line.The universe, fearing that it were falling, became consciously gentle as the swing was rocked.

కమలకును భూసతికి కదలు కదలకు మిమ్ము కౌగలింపగ జేసె నుయ్యాల

Meaning:
To the moving Lakshmi and Bhoodevi,  the unmoving/steady you are made to be embraced, by the swing;
To the properly fit ones, your gestures, meaning, extravagance  here and there is shown by your swing
Discussion:
 The Lord as the caring husband is brought forth by the swing when his wives cling on to the steady Lord as they swing. This is a gesture that all unsteady minds can cling on to the steady Lord to prevent from falling.

కమలాసనాదులకు కన్నులకు పండుగై గణుతింప నరుదాయె వుయ్యాల

Meaning:
To Brahma and all eyes, having become a festival, your swing becomes praise-defecit,
To the charming personality of Venkata mountain's Lord, to you, this swing happens to be a great event/function.

As always, comments and suggestions to help improve the understanding of this keerthana are welcome.
